League recap: Damien scores huge upset over South Hills

The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Hills, who took down 128th ranked South Hills, 38-21. Travion Boykins ran for 189 yards in the win.

Charter Oak extended the longest winning streak in Sierra this week by beating Ayala, 41-14. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Chino Hills's dynamic duo of Matthew Simko and Jack Austin proved tough for Claremont to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Simko threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns and Austin had 128 yards receiving. Ashton Allen helped Chino Hills' passing attack out by catching four balls for 41 yards.

The Huskies' Simko and Austin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Simko has thrown for 2186 yards this season, while Austin, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 50 catches for 799 yards. Aaren Vaughns from Charter Oak leads the league in rushing with 1048 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Huskies take on the Bulldogs. South Hills is in third place, while Ayala is in fourth place.

Damien moved up to 208 from 282 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra. The Spartans climbed the ranks as a result of beating Albert Rodriguez's team 38-21.
