Basketball Game Preview: Suburban Christian Crusaders vs. Colonial Christian Cougars

Suburban Christian is 2-8 against Colonial Christian since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Suburban Christian Crusaders will square off against the Colonial Christian Cougars at 7:15 p.m.

On Saturday, Suburban Christian came up short against Indiana Christian Academy and fell 66-53. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Whirlwinds are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Colonial Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Tabernacle Christian last Thursday, taking the game 52-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Colonial Christian's win came from a few key players Suburban Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Clayton Gannon, who went 9-for-18 en route to 24 points and six steals. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. Ronin Young was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.

Colonial Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Suburban Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything came up roses for Suburban Christian against Colonial Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-12 win. In that match, Suburban Christian amassed a halftime lead of 32-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
