The Emery Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Canyon View Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Emery is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Emery proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past North Sanpete 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since March 28th.
Kallee Lake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emery's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kali Jensen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jensen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Canyon View hadn't done well against Carbon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Falcons came out on top against the Dinos by a score of 4-1.
Canyon View also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Elli John gave up only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Peyton King was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Emery's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Canyon View, their record is now 5-15.
Emery came out on top in a nail-biter against Canyon View in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
