Baseball Game Preview: Southern Nash Firebirds vs. East Wake Warriors

The Southern Nash Firebirds will take on the East Wake Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southern Nash will be strutting in after a win while East Wake will be coming in after a defeat.

Southern Nash is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Fike.

Grayden Murray tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Maddox Deans and Jeremiah Battle did most of the damage at the plate: Deans went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Battle scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Battle, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, East Wake suffered their biggest loss since April 12, 2024 on Monday. They lost 12-4 to Bunn.

Southern Nash might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from East Wake in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Southern Nash avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
