Softball Recap: Ellis Comes Up Short

Ellis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spearville Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-9 loss back in April.

Ellis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Spearville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Ellis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spearville, they have already played their next game, a 14-11 victory against Stanton County on the 21st.
