Basketball Game Preview: Nimitz Vikings vs. Richardson Eagles

Nimitz is 0-10 against Richardson since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Nimitz Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Richardson Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Nimitz is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 45-31 to Berkner.

Meanwhile, Richardson waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rams 55-27. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Rams are ranked 778th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richardson pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.4 points per game. As for Nimitz, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

Nimitz was taken down by Richardson 79-22 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Nimitz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
