Volleyball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont lost against Woburn Memorial back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Marauders came up short against the Tanners, falling 3-0.

While Belmont ultimately came up short, they really made Woburn Memorial work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 28-26, 25-18.

Leading Woburn Memorial to victory were Mateo Qirjazi and Rohan Patel. Qirjazi had four digs and two aces, while Patel had 11 digs and one assist. Qirjazi is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 17 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Belmont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Woburn Memorial, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Belmont will take on Catholic Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woburn Memorial, they will face off against Lynn Classical at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
