Volleyball Game Preview: Brewer Witches vs. Washington Academy Raiders + How To Watch

Brewer hasn't had much luck against Washington Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Witches will head out to face off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m.

Brewer is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Ellsworth, who was ranked 21st at the time (Brewer was ranked 20th). The Witches fell 3-1 to the Eagles on Tuesday.

Brewer was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ellsworth work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 25-27, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Washington Academy got the win against Ellsworth on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Washington Academy took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-7, 25-14.

Washington Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Brewer, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Brewer might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Washington Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Witches avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
