Basketball Recap: International Comes Up Short

International managed to keep up with Traders Point Christian until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The International Gryphons came up short against the Traders Point Christian Knights, falling 60-40. The Gryphons haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, International still got an impressive performance from Peter Machado, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. Machado is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Kreutz, who posted eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Jakson Jones had an outrageously good game for Traders Point Christian as he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Jones has become a key player for Traders Point Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight boards, but 3-10 otherwise. Josh Dafler was another key player, putting up ten points.

International's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Traders Point Christian, their record now sits at 6-10.

International has already played their next matchup, a 69-60 defeat against Anderson Prep Academy on the 1st. As for Traders Point Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-61 loss against Mooresville Christian on the 3rd.
