After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meridian, Mountain View was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Capital Golden Eagles. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Golden Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Mountain View had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-12.

Racquel Gauna paced Mountain View's offense, picking up 18 kills. Gauna got some help from Macy Minert and her 26 assists. Gauna was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-2 record this season. As for Capital, they moved to 13-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Mountain View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Timberline on the 25th. As for Capital, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Kuna on the 25th.
