Softball Recap: American Canyon Wolves vs. Casa Grande Gauchos
American Canyon had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Casa Grande Gauchos, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gauchos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in March.
American Canyon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Wildes, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Casa Grande, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
On Casa Grande's side, the team relied heavily on Alex Giacomini, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Giacomini has posted since back in March. Lauren Ketchu was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Casa Grande is set to square off against their familiar foe Petaluma at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
