Softball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 23-0 to the Grand Saline Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 on March 4th.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Grand Saline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Winona Wildcats take on Grace Community Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grand Saline, they will challenge Edgewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Grand Saline has won four straight at home, while Edgewood won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
