Basketball Game Preview: Red Hook Raiders vs. Middletown Middie Bears

The Red Hook Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Middletown Middie Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Red Hook, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Red Hook didn't have too much trouble with Rhinebeck as they won 44-30. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Hawks are ranked 693rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Middletown came up short against Warwick on Friday and fell 53-46. The Middie Bears have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Red Hook, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Red Hook took their win against Middletown in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 62-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Hook since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
