Baseball Recap: Liberty Baptist Academy Wins Going Away Against Lincoln County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Indian Springs, Liberty Baptist Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Lincoln County Lynx 20-10. Considering the Knights have won three games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bruce Delgado and Angelo Tatonetti made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Delgado struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Tatonetti pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Delgado gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Delgado scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Tatonetti scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Tatonetti a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aiden Schmitz was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Bryce Miano, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

Liberty Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Liberty Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lincoln County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
