Football Recap: Morehead Comes Up Short

Morehead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-0 to the Providence Grove Patriots.

Providence Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Lawver, who rushed for 59 yards, and also threw for 85 yards and one touchdown. Another big playmaker for the Patriots was Andrew Thomas, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Morehead's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Providence Grove, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morehead will head out to challenge Cummings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Grove, they will venture away from home to take on Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
