McCollum is 7-2 against Southwest Legacy since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Cowboys will head out on the road to challenge the Titans at 12:00 p.m. McCollum's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Southwest Legacy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

McCollum proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Winn a 2-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to RUIZ MADELYNN's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on ALVAREZ KAITLIN, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Southwest Legacy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Winn.

Novalee Gloria made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Emma Puente was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Southwest Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for McCollum, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. McCollum hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Southwest Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

McCollum beat Southwest Legacy 12-8 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
