Volleyball Recap: Vaughn White Tigers vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights
If Vaughn was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Northridge Academy on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The White Tigers fell 3-1 to the Sherman Oaks CES Knights on Thursday. White Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Thursday.
Vaughn started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-15.
Vienna Weaver was a one-woman wrecking crew For Sherman Oaks CES. as she had 22 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Weaver a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Castaneda, who had six kills and two blocks.
Vaughn's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Sherman Oaks CES, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
