Hanover Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Highland Trojans to the tune of 28-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Trojans are ranked 252nd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Buikema, who rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Tewell, who threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.

Hanover Central's run defense was locked in: Highland could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Lincoln Zerby for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hanover Central's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.7.

Hanover Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lukas Valiska.

Hanover Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Highland, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
