Baseball Recap: Adams Central Find Success

While Adams Central's win against Twin River wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Titans 3-2. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Gus Hemberger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adams Central let Caleb Reiners and Kraeson Houghtelling run wild. Reiners got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Houghtelling went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Adams Central's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Twin River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Adams Central will take on rival Omaha Northwest at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Twin River is set to face off against their familiar foe Benson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
