Football Game Preview: Abernathy Antelopes vs. Post Antelopes

Abernathy will venture away from home to challenge Post at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Abernathy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Abernathy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Olton 70-15 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Antelopes with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Post got themselves on the board against Floydada on Friday, but Floydada never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Whirlwinds 62-0. The result was nothing new for the Antelopes, who have now won four matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.

The win (which was Post's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Abernathy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Abernathy came up short against Post in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 21-13. Thankfully for Abernathy, Ian Vergara (who rushed for 232 yards and a pair of TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
