Football Recap: Waterloo Comes Up Short

Waterloo played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles, falling 34-8. The game was a 8-8 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Clyde-Savannah had a senior duo take command as John Whitfield rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry and Garrett Carr rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Waterloo and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Clyde-Savannah, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Waterloo will take on Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clyde-Savannah, they will face off against Red Jacket at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
