Baseball Recap: Glasgow Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Glasgow had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots with a sharp 11-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Scotties' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Glasgow let Hudson Gumm and Landon Martin run wild. Gumm went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Martin went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four hits gave Gumm a new career-high. Garett Shields was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Glasgow pushed their record up to 8-12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Glasgow will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
