Baseball Recap: Cane Bay Comes Up Short

Cane Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berkeley Stags. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cobras have suffered since April 8th.

Alex Hubbard put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hubbard was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cayden Haught made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Tre Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cane Bay's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Berkeley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

As of now, neither Cane Bay nor the Stags have any future games scheduled.
