Plateau Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the West Grand Mustangs. The Cowboys were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Mustangs, so the Cowboys were just returning the favor.

Presley Hawkins paced Plateau Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Hawkins got some help from Lexi Taylor and her nine assists. Taylor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kyanna Himes, racking up two apiece.

Plateau Valley has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Moffat County on the 22nd. As for West Grand, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Dove Creek on the 22nd.
