Volleyball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. East

After both having extra time off, the Northeast Vikings and East will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

Northeast is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Belton just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-20 in the first set.

Northeast actually scored more points across those five sets (109-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 20-25, 27-25, 25-23, 7-25, 15-11.

East not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Guadalupe Centers. The victory continues a trend for East in their matchups with Guadalupe Centers: they've now won three in a row.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-2. As for East, their win bumped their record up to 9-11-1.

Northeast beat East 2-0 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
