With a playoff win on the line, South St. Paul rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Apple Valley Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was payback for the Packers, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.
The result came thanks to Audrey Madson's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.
South St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Apple Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-14.
