Springfield is 6-1 against Mt. Pulaski since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Senators are taking a road trip to square off against the Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Springfield is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rochester just ended the team's seven-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Senators' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Springfield sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 17-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pulaski came up short against Illini Bluffs on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-19.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Mt. Pulaski, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Springfield beat Mt. Pulaski 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
