Baseball Recap: Naples Big Green Machines vs. Hammondsport Lakers
Naples won the last time they faced Hammondsport and things went their way on Saturday too. The Big Green Machines had just enough and edged out the Lakers 7-5.

Hunter Jacoby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rowan Biggs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Chase Bauman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Naples' win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Hammondsport, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
