Basketball Game Preview: Central City Value Jaguars vs. Orthopaedic Vipers

Having just played yesterday, the Central City Value Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Orthopaedic Vipers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Central City Value lost to Animo Bunche at home by a 65-49 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now lost three in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brandon Valencia, who went 9 of 22 en route to 23 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Lobos, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Central City Value smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Orthopaedic had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-21 win over the Panthers. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Orthopaedic pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Central City Value, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Central City Value was dealt a bruising 54-22 loss at the hands of Orthopaedic in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Central City Value avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
