Baseball Recap: Richmond Triumphs

Richmond never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hoke County Bucks 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now won nine in a row.

Not much got past Jason Walker, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Hoke County off the board. Walker also tossed no walks, which is notable because Richmond is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Nolan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Richmond's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hoke County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Richmond has already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against Montgomery Central on the 19th. As for Hoke County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-4 victory against Red Springs on the 19th.
