Baseball Game Preview: Wall Hawks vs. Jim Ned Indians

The Wall Hawks will head out to take on the Jim Ned Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wall is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Abilene just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since February 22, 2024.

Wall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Wyatt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Jim Ned didn't have quite enough to beat Clyde on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jim Ned's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Wall, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-4.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .514. However, it's not like Jim Ned struggles in that department as they've averaged .529. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Wall took their win against Jim Ned in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
