Jackson Whitcomb put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Tuesday. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Whitcomb's strong effort led Lamar over Park Place Christian Academy and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
