Soccer Game Preview: MacArthur vs. Jay

The MacArthur Brahmas are taking a road trip to square off against the Jay Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

MacArthur is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Southwest just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Jay waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit South San Antonio with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abigayle Rodriguez (3), Larixsa Plascencia (2), Krysna Diaz, and Nyalah Reeves.

Jay pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those four matchups. As for MacArthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

MacArthur skirted past Jay 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for MacArthur since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
