Football Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monroe extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneer Pioneers. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Pioneer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games.

Among those leading the charge was Cole Heys, who threw for 153 yards and a pair of TDs.

Monroe and Pioneer could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 324th) will meet Huron (ranked 130th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pioneer will take on Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (227 vs. 23).
