Softball Recap: Truckee Comes Up Short

Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 17-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Loyalton Grizzlies. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (12), the Wolverines still had to take the loss.

Truckee got a massive performance out of Gwen Burns, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jessie Borzello, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Truckee's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Loyalton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Truckee beat the Grizzlies by a score of 24-20 later that day.
