Alamogordo faced Las Cruces in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Bulldawgs 11-9. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Alamogordo and bumps their season record up to 14-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Las Cruces, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alamogordo will challenge Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Las Cruces, they will head out on the road to square off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their 23rd straight victory, something the Bulldawgs surely won't give up without a fight.
