Softball Recap: Payson Lions vs. Orem Tigers
In what's become a running theme this season, Payson gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Orem Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for Payson who now have three in a row.
Peyton Staheli made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Staheli was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Payson got a big performance out of Adi Duke, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Allie Callahan, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Payson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Orem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
