Basketball Game Preview: East Troy Trojans vs. Edgerton Crimson Tide

East Troy and Edgerton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The East Troy Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Edgerton Crimson Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, East Troy came up short against Brodhead and fell 74-63.

Meanwhile, Edgerton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They breezed by the Comets to the tune of 86-42. Given the Crimson Tide's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Comets are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edgerton is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.1 points per game. As for East Troy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

East Troy took a serious blow against Edgerton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 82-48. Can East Troy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
