Baseball Recap: Prosser Wins Going Away Against Ephrata

Prosser hadn't done well against Ephrata recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-3 victory. The Mustangs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Justin Perkins made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Prosser got a massive performance out of Aaron Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Landon BaiLey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Prosser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Prosser's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Ephrata, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Prosser beat the Tigers by a score of 10-3 later that day.
