Basketball Game Preview: Escalante Lobos vs. Los Alamos Hilltoppers

The Escalante Lobos will square off against the Los Alamos Hilltoppers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Escalante is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Escalante lost to Pecos on the road by a 45-29 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Panthers are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Los Alamos ended up a good deal behind Mesa Vista on Saturday and lost 59-41. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Los Alamos, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Escalante took a serious blow against Los Alamos when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-22. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Escalante was down 33-11.
