Basketball Recap: Herron's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Herron was feeling good fresh off their 63-17 takedown of KIPP Legacy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Herron Achaeans fell 59-49 to the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders on Monday. The Achaeans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Herron still got an impressive performance from Taylor Cotham, who posted 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallyn Vincent, who had eight points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Herron smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Scecina Memorial only pulled down nine offensive boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indianapolis Scecina Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Miller, who went 6 for 11 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kaila Leath, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Herron's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Herron wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 37-26 win against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on the 30th. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-21 loss against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 28th.
