Basketball Recap: Wawasee Falls Short of Columbia City in the Playoffs

Wawasee and Columbia City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Wawasee had to settle for second. They came up short against the Columbia City Eagles, falling 49-23. The Warriors have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Wawasee lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Molly Beer, who posted four points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Couture, who scored eight points and seven boards.

Wawasee's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Columbia City, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Wawasee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbia City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-40 win against Fairfield on the 8th.
