Softball Game Preview: Gibson County Pioneers vs. Milan Bulldogs

Gibson County is 1-9 against Milan since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pioneers will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Gibson County didn't have quite enough to beat Obion County and fell 2-1.

Gibson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Criswell, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Haley Mingle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Milan's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Camden Central on Monday. The Bulldogs never let Lake County get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Milan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Gibson County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
