Softball Game Preview: Glades Day Gators vs. LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls

Glades Day is 0-10 against LaBelle since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Gators will be playing at home against the Cowboys/Cowgirls at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Glades Day will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Clewiston, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Gators were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, LaBelle came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Griffins get on the board and left with a 15-0 win.

Abbie Reinking made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Reinking was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, LaBelle got a massive performance out of Amaiah Meyer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Meyer a new career-high. Emorie Anderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

LaBelle lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

LaBelle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Glades Day, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Glades Day might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from LaBelle in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
