Football Recap: Hershey Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Hershey took on Mitchell on Friday. The Panthers and the Tigers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Panthers suffered a 41-40 loss. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Cole Murdock threw for 33 yards. Rhodee Hill was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards.

Mitchell was led to victory by James Billingsley and Michael Plasencio. Billingsley rushed for 170 yards and five scores, while Plasencio rushed for 182 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Billingsley a new career-high.

Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mitchell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Hershey will head out to challenge Cedar Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 6.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
