Softball Recap: Seaman's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Seaman dropped their record down to 17-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wamego Red Raiders. The game marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Lydia Dreher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seaman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleigh Neil, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

As for Wamego, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games.

On Wamego's side, not much got past Peyton Hardenberger, who gave up just three hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Seaman off the board.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Red Raiders beat the Vikings by a score of 6-4 later that day.
