Baseball Recap: Teaneck Takes a Loss

Bergen Catholic hit Teaneck with a seven-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Highwaymen lost 15-4 to the Crusaders. That's two games in a row now that the Highwaymen have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Jayden Castro and Deyton Walcott did some serious damage despite the final result: Castro went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Walcott went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Alexis Delgado also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Teaneck has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Bergen Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Teaneck will face off against Hackensack at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bergen Catholic, they will welcome DePaul Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
