Baseball Recap: Plain Dealing Has No Trouble Against Arcadia

Plain Dealing had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Arcadia on Wednesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 16-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

Cade DeMoss made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Plain Dealing is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9-1 otherwise. DeMoss was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Bo Bailey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two triples. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Hudsom Budwah was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Plain Dealing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Plain Dealing now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Arcadia, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Plain Dealing will venture away from home to square off against Southwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Arcadia, they are taking a road trip to take on Homer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
