Football Recap: Tyler Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tyler can now relate to. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cedar Park Timberwolves on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Timberwolves are ranked 198th).

When it comes to explaining why Tyler lost, don't look at Cadarius McMiller. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Caden J Granberry was another key player, having thrown for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

It was another big night for Trae Samuel Frost Hill, who rushed for 374 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry for Cedar Park. Those 374 rushing yards gave Samuel Frost Hill a new career-high. David Cooper was another major influence, as he rushed for 114 yards and ran in a TD.

Tyler has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Cedar Park, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Tyler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedar Park, they will challenge Wakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
