Football Recap: Nolan Catholic Comes Up Short

Nolan Catholic extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were beaten by the Parish Episcopal Panthers 48-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 62-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Jake Werline threw for 69 yards and one TD. Eli Hernandez was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and one score.

As for Parish Episcopal, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parish Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Lucero, who threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Marcus Hanish, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nolan Catholic is set to square off against their familiar foe Bishop Lynch at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Parish Episcopal will challenge rival Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
